Let us give your hand back

The Helping Hand is a mechatronic hand exoskeleton that helps individuals with neurological injuries relearn fine motor skills in the hand. It provides a motor assist to help complete a physical therapy exercise. Over time, as the wearer rebuilds muscle memory and strength, the wearer will need the motor assist less and less and become able to complete the entire exercise independently.

Improving Continuous Regional Analgesia Administration

The overall goal of this project phase was to analyze the existing technology used in a transversus abdominis plane block procedure, in order to gain insight into the process and find avenues of potential improvement. Research was conducted concerning multiple dimensions of the product, including exploration of historical context, existing user markets, operation and functionality. After learning more about the procedure holistically, it was determined that there is a growing market for the device and that it has less side effects than current options for pain relief (opioids). However, it was also determined that the process of applying the anesthesia is complex and requires multiple people to operate the ultrasound, cannula, and catheter. In order to make the device better, the process can be simplified so that one person can complete it alone, or the precision and invasiveness can be improved by altering the design of its components.

Strengthening Origami Structures with Layer Jamming

The goal of this project was to evaluate how the effect stands up to folding and how crease patterns affect the bending stiffness. We evaluated the crush strength of the Miura Ori in the x and z directions as a function of pressure difference. Our group seeked to explicitly determine how crease perforations affect bending stiffness. We looked at how perforation ratio and perforation width ratio affects the bending stiffness of a sheet with respect to various P values . We also tested the jamming effect on Hyperbolic Parabola pattern.

Elephant Trunk

A Soft Robot

A variety of animals exhibit complex movement with soft In In this project, we are trying to make conceptual design of soft robotics inspired by elephant trunk, and investigate their kinematic and dynamic properties. We hope this research not only uncovers the manipulation mechanism of the elephant trunk, but generates new ideas for designing dexterous and powerful soft grippers.

Couldn't graduate as a Prototyping Instructor and not go big (waterjet cut + Arduino) for my graduation cap design

A LITTLE ABOUT               ME!

I am a recent Biomedical Engineering graduate from Georgia Tech. I enjoy painting, practicing jujitsu, playing piano, watching soccer and TED talks. I am constantly doing something, whether it's working on my research or building things.

I am an adventurous person and I love to visit new places and do new activities and meet new people. Before I die, I want to have managed to travel the world. My favorite quote is by Wayne Gretzky "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take".
